The principles behind the work.
Six things that fifteen years have proven true enough to work by.
Principles
- 01
Built to last.
I don't ship things that need rewriting in six months. I ship things that still work in five years. A site you can maintain is cheaper than a site you rebuild every two years.
- 02
Craft shows in the details.
Load time, contrast ratios, proper heading hierarchy, working keyboard navigation. That isn't polish applied at the end. That is the work.
- 03
The problem first, then the solution.
Before I propose what to build, I name what is broken. A brief without a diagnosis is expensive. I take the time to understand the actual problem — not just the one written in the email.
- 04
I'll say so when it doesn't fit.
Not every project is right for me. I would rather say so in the first week than deliver something that isn't worth what the client paid. No diplomatic "let's explore the options".
- 05
Privacy is the baseline.
I don't add cookies to measure what doesn't need measuring. No tracking scripts by default. If something is on the site, it's there for a reason I can explain.
- 06
One thing properly.
I don't take ten jobs at once to pad revenue. When I'm working on your project, it gets full attention. That's how work worth signing gets made.
If you have read this far, you are probably the kind of person who reads things carefully. Those are the people I work with best.antonin@simkanin.cz
